Abstract
Joint pain and swelling form a significant part of the problems that bring patients to the doctor. The following review briefly summarises the symptoms and findings in the most common rheumatic diseases that can contribute to their diagnosis.
It also attempts to give some clues as to how to differentiate rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis, gout and fibromyalgia in joint pain.
