Abstract

Pancreatic cancer (PC - pancreatic cancer) is a serious disease with increasing incidence and high lethality. In recent years, groups of people with an increased risk of the disease have been defined and the results of studies from expert centers have been published, showing a prolonged life expectancy of patients in whom PC was diagnosed in an asymptomatic stage.

Aware of the rapid development of knowledge in this area, the authors of the text aim to summarize the current level of knowledge, define the principles of PC surveillance and contribute to increasing the level of care for vulnerable persons in the Czech Republic.
