Bats represent the second most diverse mammalian order with more than 1400 species. While there is a large amount of information about the feeding ecology of bats as effective predators, there is relatively little information on the opposite perspective - bats as prey for other animals.
This chapter summarizes the current knowledge about the effect of predation pressure on the evolution and ecology of bats, the diversity of predators that occasionally or regularly prey on bats and suggests research perspectives for further research of this topic.
