Abstract
The lecture presented the life and activities of Karel Ignác baron Villani de Castelo Pilonico (1818-1883), who was the Benešov district mayor in 1865-1869. Among other things, during the previous revolutionary events of 1848 in Prague, Villani was at the head of the armed forces, or he was an important poet in his time.
He later fell foul of the central authorities and was not confirmed with a political mandate. He died in Struhařov.
It was based on the published literature on Villani and focused on developing a view of his activities during the 19th and 20th centuries.
