With Wittgenstein in the gay sauna : On the body and four little deaths

Abstract

In the tradition of queer studies, the reportage essay "With Wittgenstein in the Gay Sauna" focuses on the specific habitus of the contemporary gay community using the example of the Kaiserbründl sauna in Vienna. Based on the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein, Michel Foucault, Jean Baudrillard and Pierre Bourdieu, it offers a new interpretation for the gay experience of the objectified body.
