Duccio : Artist and Man
The Sienese painter Duccio di Buoninsegna created in Tuscany, next to Giotto's Florence, another center of high Gothic painting in rival Siena. Its importance for European art is also proven by the Sienese-oriented form of Czech painting at the court of the Czech King Karl in Prague, especially in the emotionally intense panel paintings of the Vyšebrod Altar Master.
