Textiles with antibacterial, antiviral and UV properties

Publication

Abstract

The goal of the project is to produce a set of comfortable protective clothing and textile products with highly functional antibacterial and antiviral properties in several variants.

Above all, a combined textile consisting of a base substrate and nanofibers will be developed.

Antibacterial and antiviral effectiveness will be ensured by a mechanical barrier made of nanofibers and secondary acting additives, which will ensure disinfection of the textile after contamination with an infectious agent. Emphasis is placed on the possibility of repeated use of protective clothing as well as their physiological and sensory comfort. Coveralls and protective coats will be used in healthcare, social services, schools, the police, the army, firefighters and others.

Another group addressed is knitwear made from fibers with antibacterial and antiviral effects for clothes intended for everyday wear and bed linen. They will fulfill the preventive function of protection against infectious agents and photoprotection against UV radiation
