Abstract

The article attempts to answer the question as to whether the parable of the good Samaritan can be stimulating in the context of medical practice. It recalls its use in reflecting on the nature of Christian charitable work, considers the difficulties of its application in the field of health care, and concludes with a focus on the motif of 'seeing the other' and approaching the other person - including the patient - as a concrete, irreplaceable individual.
