Abstract
The presentation offers an analytical insight into the experiences of three lecturers who have been teaching in the academic staff development programmes at Charles University since 2017. The authors present the professional background and principles of the training program, the curriculum development process, and the current selection of objectives, content, and activities.
Furthermore, the needs of different target groups will be considered - from heterogeneous groups whose participants differ in length of teaching experience and faculty affiliation to specific groups of academic staff from medical, pharmaceutical or law faculties. The authors will share their experience of conducting seminars attended by more than 600 academics.
They will discuss how they deal with ambivalence (theory vs. tips and tricks, professional content vs. reflection on personal experiences) and how their work is influenced by interdisciplinary perspectives and tandem/team teaching.
