Abstract

Caravaggio: New Order - Baroque Art.

Caravaggio: the Italian conception of Caravaggio's work emphasizes that Caravaggio gave the new art an "ordo novus", i.e. a new order. With his painting, he followed not only the truthfulness of ancient painting, but also Leonardo's and Titian's work with light, as Annibale Carracci had done before him, and continued Carracci's naturalism, from which Annibale deviated in the intentions of classicism, and with his radical dark light attracted a number of followers from Europe (Italy, France, Netherlands, Spain, Germany and Central Europe). He also influenced the painters of the 19th century, and his work is an example for today as well.
