Abstract

The text traces the steps of Jiří Stanislav Guth-Jarkovský and his colleagues in the Czech Olympic Committee after the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic in October 1918 and his transformation from a representative of athletes of Czech nationality to a representative of athletes of all nationalities in the new state, until the first post-war Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920.
