Abstract

The article presents the perforated clay spools were excavated by Heinrich Schliemann at Troy. Although we do not know the context, these finds can be linked to the spread of the horizontal loom and can be interpreted in more detail along with other changes at the turn of the Middle Bronze Age to the Late Bronze Age in the Aegean.

Their importance also lies in their good state of preservation - they are rarely completely preserved.
