Abstract

The publication deals with the circumstances of Czechoslovak participation in the VII Olympic Games 1920, the first after the Great War. The first part deals with the transformation of the former Czech Olympic Committee, which represented athletes of Czech nationality, into the Czechoslovak Olympic Committee, which, in accordance with the adopted Olympic Charter, became the representative of athletes of all nationalities on the territory of the new Czechoslovak state.

The second part analyses the individual sports on the programme of the Antwerp Games with an emphasis on Czechoslovak participation. In the third part, the 1920 Olympics in the collections of the National Museum in Prague are documented.
