The Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, the largest of the Institutes of the Academy of Sciences, is celebrating its 70th anniversary. Its roots are however, at least twenty years older - it is primarily the Škoda Races Physical Research (FVŠZ), which originated in close connection with Dolejšk's Spectroscopy Institute of Charles University in 1934.
In FVŠZ he crystallized personnel as well as thematic and methodological basis of later physical research in post-war Czechoslovakia.
