Restoration of the work of composer Jan Theny and its use in music pedagogy

Abstract

The contribution is focused on the restoration of the musical work of Jan Theny, a composer of the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.

In order for a work to be read, critically evaluated, and performed, it must be transcribed.

This process is subject to its own regularities based on findings, especially notographic and historical. The processed notation is further analyzed according to the procedures of complex analysis of art, and in this case a piece of music. This analysis is based on qualitative research properties of the work as an art artifact and its result is the aesthetic evaluation of the work. From here it is also based on the follow-up pedagogical and artistic-interpretive evaluation, from which it depends pedagogical and artistic interpretation. After that, it is possible to proceed to pedagogical research, focused on the application of the processed work in music pedagogy.
