Abstract
The webinar "Child Speech Development in Monolingual and Bilingual Environments" was part of the training programme "Fundamentals of Pedagogy and Psychology for Unqualified Educational Staff Teaching in Czech Schools Abroad" organised by NPI and the Ministry of Education and Science. The aim of the lecture was to acquaint the participants with the basic facts and terminology in the defined topic.
The content of the lecture: stages of speech development, manifestations of speech development in all language levels, factors influencing speech development - examples from case studies, effects of bilingual environment on child's speech development, communication strategies, manifestations of children in bi/multilingual environment, other factors influencing speech development and language acquisition in preschool age - examples from case studies.
