The lecturer focused on the pragmatic aspects of the use of idioms in the everyday communication of native and non-native Czech speakers. He also focused on the language didactic principles of presenting phraseology in teaching Czech to foreigners at different levels of language proficiency.
He also drew attention to the fact that idioms in communication can act as a catalyst for communication, but also as its detergent, therefore a non-native speaker must be aware of exactly what, when, to whom, where and how he wants to communicate by using an idiom.
