For Pfeiffer, analytical brooding over historical, political or socio-cultural phenomena meets a sincere fascination with mythological and religious symbolism. However, the author does not choose the material to be processed according to its relevance in the historiographical discourse. What he is primarily interested in are the sometimes almost imperceptible mechanisms and connotations that shape or surround given historical or social moments. Or conversely, it examines the given mechanisms and connotations as the consequences of the initiating, triggering moment in which a historical or social movement occurs. The language with which Pfeiffer interprets the eclectic stories of his own thinking is abstract and often peculiarly symbolic. However, its basis always remains the human scale, which the author translates both into his individual works and into the gallery context. Text from the author's CV.
Jan Peiffer will present a spatial installation that will play out with a movement performance accompanied by other performers.
""Life of a Stone"
For Kabinet Chaos, I prepared a site-specific exhibition "Life of Stone" reacting to the light conditions (sun rays) of the exhibition space. The main motif of the installation is the cave environment as a place for seclusion and self-observation. A performative revitalization of stone and stairs will also be included. Objects, large and smaller canvases will be created using the author's technique of rubbed graphite dust." Jan Pfeiffer
