Abstract
The chapter entitled Communication strategies for people with hearing loss and the use of sign language interpreter/transcriber services introduces the importance of sign language for Deaf people in terms of everyday communication. It also provides a brief description of the interpreting services offered and highlights the barriers a sign language interpreter may encounter in their work.
