What do elementary and high school pupils think about classical antiquity? Do they believe this knowledge is important and beneficial for society? What topics are they interested in? Moreover, what are they interested in, but lack in school education? This paper will present perspectives of pupils from the Czech Republic on classical antiquity and its presentation in schools. The method of survey-questionnaire in two phases was used to measure pupils' perspectives and school teachers were interviewed.
More than five hundred pupils from eighteen different schools delivered their answers, which will elucidate the relationship between pupils and classical antiquity, and thereby also classical archaeology.
