Abstract
The article deals with the charity organization České srdce (Czech heart), which tried to help Czech children at the end of the First World War and several years after it. This organization contributed to the fact that social differences did not increase beyond an intolerable limit.
After the coup in October 1918, so there were no major upheavals and the building of the state proceeded calmly and with dignity.
