Bioarchaeology provides many insights into the possible influences of socio-economic structure on everyday life and some aspects of human health for which we have no written records. Our interest is in the burial sites of the Sázava Monastery, which are placed in a wide time span from its foundation to its dissolution by Emperor Joseph II (11 th -18th centuries).
We will mainly focus on chronic conditions, traumas related to accidents and violence that imply nursing care for the long-term ill or physically handicapped.
