Abstract

The international cultural-linguistic conference was attended by five leading linguists from Poland and Ukraine: Anna Pajdzińská, Dorota Filar, Aneta Wysocka, Stanislawa Niebrzegowska Bartmińska (Uniwersytet Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej, Lublin), and Galina Javorska (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv). The conference was complemented by five lectures and two workshops.

Topics: problems of tension between individual (textual) views of the world and a shared (linguistic) image of the world, current issues of the cognitively and ethnolinguistically conceived study of metaphor, methodological aspects of ethnolinguistically oriented lexicography, especially with regard to the international cooperation of Czech authors on the Lublin project EUROJOS - Axiological Dictionary of Slavs and their neighbors.
