The paper dealt with the analysis of parables from the two synoptic gospels, Matthew 22,1-10 and Luke 14,7-14.15-24, as well as the Gospel of Thomas 64 concerning the contextuality of ancient authors. The research topic was the topoi of ancient society and the topic, which was part of the collective memory and a widely worked topic.

The texts of Seneca, Cicero, Epictetus, Aesop, as well as the virtues of the Greek and Roman times (hormé, kathekon, eusebés, eusebia) were examined. The paper focused mainly on the stylization of the text accessible in Luke's Gospel and on the social aspects of the time of the Herodians when the political and social conditions under these rulers can form a Sitz im Leben parable.
