On didactic grammar for teaching Czech

Abstract

The review critically and closely approaches the monograph intended for a wider circle of those interested in Czech language and its teaching. The author elaborates and uses the results of his long-term research and pedagogical practice and focuses on the teaching of Czech as a foreign language.

The content of the book is organized into three thematic parts: Grammar and its types, basic features of the linguistic level of Czech, Didactic Grammar and Language Acquisition, Selected Lingvodidactic Chapters from Morphosyntax of Contemporary Czech, supplemented by a selection of relevant literature and textbooks of Czech for foreigners. Many of the author's annotated interpretations of theoretical and methodological opinions of domestic and foreign experts are practically applicable for teaching Czech as a mother tongue. The review concludes that in his publication the author once again presents in a concise, interesting and illustrative manner how the clarity and clarity of the interpretation of linguodidactic grammar is essential in language teaching as a prerequisite for its successful use in practice.
