The article is dedicated to Bedřich Weiss, an important Prague jazz musician and arranger who became a key figure of the Prague swing scene before the Second World War. In 1941 he was deported to the ghetto Theresienstadt, where he continued his musical activities and became a member of the legendary Ghetto-Swingers orchestra.
With the other members of this orchestra he was deported to Auschwitz, where he was murdered in the gas chamber. The article on Fritz Weis, while popular, provides a lot of new information and some previously unpublished photographs.
