The concept of body and soul in Paul's 1st letter to the Corinthians and in the works of ancient doctors and authors

Abstract
The lecture was focused on the analysis of the concept of the body in the apostle Paul, and his letters to Corinth were taken as a basis, with an emphasis on 1 Corinthians (chapters 5-11). The works of the Stoics (Seneca, Ad Lucilium Epistularum moralium quae supersunt), Epicureans (Titus Lucretius Carus, De Rerum Natura) and Galen (On Diseases and Symptoms) were used for comparison.
With Paul, attention was paid to the concept of "soma" (pneumatikon and psychikon), as well as to the possible perception of the soul (psyche) and also to the division of the body into the upper and lower halves or to the consideration of the Spirit's indwelling in the body (1 Corinthians 6:12-20 and 10:23-33).
