Abstract
This contribution deals with selected issues of appeal in criminal proceedings against the decision of the Magistrates' Court in England. It briefly presents the appeal process and its selected aspects regarding adult offenders and juvenile offenders.
The contribution contains an evaluation of selected aspects of the appeal process as well as a possible inspiration for the Czech legal environment. The contribution also emphasizes, for example, the institution of the guilty plea and the subsequent (in)ability to appeal against the conviction.
