Ei mikään tavallinen festivaali is a contribution to a monograph that traces the more than twenty-year history of the Lempäälä Festival (1999-2021), which the author had the honour to attend repeatedly together with Jiří Tomášek, former professor at HAMU and Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University. The paper briefly traces the Czech footprint in the creation of the festival and in the development of Finnish music education in general. During the preparation of the monograph, the author helped to clarify the origins and story of Czech participation in the activities that gave rise to the festival and its subsequent functioning.

In her contribution, she has mapped the history of Prof. Tomášek's contact with the Finnish environment from the very beginning, providing insight into this otherwise unknown chapter.

The festival had a major impact on the development of music education in the area and was the culmination of an annual cycle. Professor Tomášek was instrumental in the development of violin teaching, even organizing and implementing the construction and purchase of master instruments from Tomáš Pilař's workshop for a talented children's quartet. Together with him, G. Kubátová participated in the festival as his accompanist in concerts for two violins or violin and viola or in other chamber groups and as a collaborator in teaching activities.

This paper was prepared at the instigation of the author of the entire monograph and is one of four such papers included in the monograph.
