Assessment issues for the field of social security in general practice medicine: Questions and answers from practice

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2023

Abstract

The presented publication is a symbiosis of the views of both authors on the issue of cooperation between general practice medicine and forensic medicine.

Issues of health, quality of life and self-sufficiency are increasingly being discussed with increasing human age. The interdisciplinary connection is a possibility to inform the professional and lay public about the social security system and the work of the medical assessment service.

The role of medical examiner is surrounded by a number of myths and half-truths that do not show this expert in a particularly flattering light.

The role of the general practitioner is becoming increasingly difficult and undervalued in a changing society. He is the one who holds the imaginary keys - not to the kingdom, of course - but to the patient's quality of life. Naturally, he becomes the chief medical care manager. The book therefore sets itself the bold goal of introducing the reader to the everyday reality of assessing the consequences of the disease through a set of practical advice and recommendations.
