Abstract
The paper discusses the relationship of Germanists of the University of Prague to the Šumava region in Bohemia and its reflection in the scientific work of these representatives of German Studies. In particular, their interest in Šumava was in ethnography, German dialects and German dialect literature (Hans Lambel, Adolf Hauffen, Arnošt Kraus).
