Abstract
Afterword to the novel European woman (Stories from the Polisiia region) by contemporary novelist Alexey Sevruk (Prague: Argo, 2023), which maps the historical background of the story, i.e. the history of Ukraine in the 20th century, and thus tries to place the individual episodes of the book in a broader framework.
