Abstract

The interaction of technological and social transformations is changing social reality from the ground up. It is also reflected in the state and functioning of an otherwise rather conservative law.

It is therefore no exaggeration to speak of a watershed period, perhaps the greatest revolution that humanity has experienced. It is the effects of this great social reorganization on law that are the subject of a book by a team of authors from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague.

It focuses on three sets of issues: the redefinition of traditional legal concepts through the lens of other disciplines, the reflection of social transformation in law, and the implications of technological advances in law. The common intention of the authors was to capture the transformation of law not only globally, but also in its various dimensions: in theory, empirics and practice.
