The influence of substitutions on the magnetocaloric effect in RC02 compounds

Abstract

We have studied the magnetocaloric effect in Gd(Co,Rh)2 and Dy(Co,Fe)2 compounds. The substitutions in both series allow precise tuning of the transition temperature.

The Rh substitution leads to a decrease of the ordering temperature and slight increase of the entropy change. The iron substitution leads to a strong increase of the transition temperature.
