The Common Roots of Asteroids (6070) Rheinland and (54827) 2001 NQ8

Abstract

We study possibility of past close approches of asteroids (6070) Rheinland and (54827) 2001 NQ8. We show that these two bodies separated from a common parent object 17.22 /-0.28 thousand years ago.

The median separation velocity was very small, only 17 cm/s.
