Portable laboratory hazemeter and accessories for the control of quality of beer filtration and stabilization
Abstract
The portable laboratory hazemeter was developed and created. Stable long-lived light source LED emits light in the spectral range recommended by MEBAK.
Stainless steel instruments case has display and keypad. Various adapters may be used to measure samples of volume from 5 ml up to 1.5 l.
The simultaneous detection of haze in forward (12o) , nephelometric (90o) and transmission (0o) mode enables to differentiate between colloidal (protein-polyphenol) and particulate (e.g. yeasts, kieselguhr) haze at samples taken during beer filtration. Haze based titration tests can be made by modular accessories.
Values of tannoid content and sensitive proteins before and after beer stabilization may be used for the process efficiency gauge.
