Storms Kyrill and Emma above the Czech Republic - meteorological causes, the course of storms with evaluation of wind extremes

Abstract
This article deals with extraordinary intensive cyclones Kyrill and Emma that strongly affected Czechia during 2007 and 2008. Synoptic description is given including their impacts and evaluation of wind extremes that were registerad during their passage above Czechia.
Special attention is gived to the linkage between these storms and Norathatlantic oscillation.
