Abstract
The book tries to ouline main basic steps how to accomplish the audit of institutional activities with the stress on a level of central public administration and management. It offers to readers the theoretical foundations of strategic governance and strategic management in the Czech Republic at the beginning of the 21st century.
The purpose of this book is to analyse the role conceptional documents (namely visions, prognoses, concepts, execution plans and implementation methods) as guideposts supporting decision - making process of public policy. The final chapter offers a series of brief characterisations of selected strategic documents that were elaborated in the Czech Republic - forming strategical and security documents, the strategy for sustainable development and the national programme for the development of education in the Czech Republic (White Paper).
