Abstract
In in various spheres of current Slovak-Czech and Czech-Slovak communicative interaction a category ?foreign language? representing a relatively new communicative element is used to categorize the status of Slovak/Czech in their mutual relations. The communicative intentions and different conceptual frames concerning the category usage are examined.
