Abstract
More than 400 colleagues from different countries who are specialized in teaching the Deaf took part in the International Symposium at NTID, RIT in 2005. Besides the Czech Republic and the USA among the states which took part in the symposium were Great Britain, Russia, Norway, Finland, Danmark, Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Greece.
The Symposium program was very interesting and rich. There were lectures and seminars going on concurrently in four sections the whole two days.
Presenters referred to the issues from special pedagogy and methodology of teaching English to the Deaf, discussed the inclusion of modern technical equipment in the class and the use of special audiological gadgets and above standard devices in the education of the Deaf. This videoprogram presents those Symposium lectures which concerned either teaching English to the Deaf or educational and psychological strategies connected with this uneasy discipline.
