Abstract
The Prague Maharal held for twenty years the function of the chief Moravian rabbi in Mikulov / Nikolsburg. in the wine region both Jews and Christians were involved in the wine business and consumation. The article deals with the polemics related to whether the Jews may or may not drink non-Jewish wine, which is a major theme in Jewish religious law.
