The nineteenth birthday of Professor František Daneš and the conference in his honour

Abstract

The article attempts to summarize the scientific carreer of Professor František Daneš. His books and papers on general linguistics, syntax and text linguistics, intonation, language culture etc. inspired many linguists who came to a conference in April 2009 to Prague to honour his 90th birthday.
