Abstract
The chapter analyzes lexical borrowings in a variety of Romani, an Indo-Aryan language of Europe. It provides an overview of loanwords by their word class and semantics, of loanword integration and grammatical borrowing, and of the situations of linguistic contact that have resulted in borrowing.
