Exoticism and Intertextuality

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2009

Abstract

Intertextuality is the basis for the textual production of literary exoticism and the guarantee of its continuity. Nevertheless, it is also its obstacle; it leads to the servile imitation of the patterns of exotic literature.

Exoticism is interesting only in so far as it tends to exotextuality.
