The collection of contemporary Persian short stories and poetry captures a life in the Islamic Republic of Iran, in Afghanistan during the Soviet occupation, and in exile in Europe as well as in the USA. A multi-layered meaning of the texts and its specific language results from a writers´ awareness and watchfulness of literary censorship taking place in Iran.
Large amount of women writers represented in this collection points out to a recent ?boom? of women writings in Iran. The second part of the book presents several poems from the four outstanding poets of the 20th century Iranian poetry.
