The Lenten Veils of Zittau in the Light of the Accounts of the Parish Church and the Church of Our Lady (round 1470-1570)

Abstract

This paper presents the first mention of the so called Big Lenten Veil (from 1472) in the records from the year 1563 and the absence of any mention of the so called Small Lenten Veil of Zittau (from 1573) in the account books of the churches in Zittau.
