Rigidity of Large Technological Systems and the problem of a structural change in the information society

Abstract

In this paper, the author interconnects Thomas Hughes? conception of Large Technological Systems with Network Society Theory of Manuel Castells. On this basis he questions those assumptions of deep social changes as an implication of an expansion of information technologies.
