Abstract
In this publication the position of Deaf Signs in Czech Sign Language is being clarified. The Deaf Signs origin, their use and the conditions for their appearance are explained.
There are situations described in which Deaf Signs are used (with evaluation of their usage by interpreters and explanation why it is important to use them). The characteristics of Deaf Signs is described from structural, psycho-linguistic and socio-linguistic view.
