The problem of health inequalitities was in former Czechoslovakia - due to political, economic and socio-historical circumstances - not investigated from 1948 to 1989. The purpose of this chapter is to address the distribution of assumed health determinants among different districts of the Czech Republic.
In the study relationships between sick leave, unemployment, and average pay with respect to the different Czech districts are explored. The findings are compared with commensurate EU data of 18 European countries.
