Abstract
A review of the study of pottery kilns from early medieval to modern times in Belgium, the Netherland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The critical assessment of the archaeological proven kiln structures is highly appreciated and the current state of research of the medieval pottery production in Central Eastern Europe is discussed and compared.
